7 Signs You Need a Copywriter

  1. You own a business

You own your own business. Your creative idea came to life. You took a chance on yourself and ditched the corporate world to do your own thing. That’s remarkable!

But now it’s time to give yourself the best shot you have at succeeding and making your sacrifices worthwhile. And it’s not just about surviving. But creating abundance for yourself and your family. Which is why it’s important to hire a professional copywriter to create some copy magic to elevate your business.

2. You have an email list

You have a gold mine in the palm of your hands if you have an email list. But it doesn’t mean anything if you’re not actually using it. Email marketing boasts the highest ROI of any other type of marketing with a $36 return on each $1 spent. I’m not making that up. You can google it! ;)

But it’s not just about writing an email and hitting the send button. A lot of thought, strategy, purpose, and creativity go behind writing and creating email campaigns that eventually monetize!

It’s about nurturing your audience. Knowing how to connect with them to build a community. And storytelling that makes people feel like they know YOU. Then buying from you becomes a no-brainer. That’s what I do for my clients.

3. You have a website

If you have a website or need one, then you need a good copywriter to write the copy for you. Many people try to write the copy themselves, but that would be like me trying to fix my car myself to save money. I’d probably ruin something and end up paying more to get it to function properly. You’ll end up losing money because you’ll miss out on potential clients that you would have had if your website copy was just…better.

4. You post on social media

You post. I post. We all post on social media. What you post matters when you’re marketing for your business. You want to come across friendly and relatable while remaining professional. And of course, depending on your business, you can always lean more toward one or the other.

A dog grooming business on social media would probably have less serious and more friendly communication than an attorney who should still be relatable but have a serious tone as well. Good copywriters take all this and more into account to get you the best possible reach and outcome for your social media.

5. You need help with writing content for blog posts

You have a blog on your website, but you hate writing. Or don’t have time to. Or don’t even know WHAT to write about. That’s okay. (I mean unless you’re a writer then we have a problem.) But most likely you’re not.

Creative copywriters will know how to search the best topics for your business and make content that’s educational, relatable, and fun to read. Check out my blog writing services to find out how I can help you with your blog posts.

6. You market your business on digital or print platforms

If you do any type of marketing for your business, chances are there are words on the digital or print materials you’re using. Even photographers who use mainly photos to sell still need to have some sort of copy on their websites or brochures. Without a proper call to action (CTA), people will just browse your website and not contact you. Good copywriters will lead the people to the water and help them drink it.

7. You need help strategizing your business marketing

Any type of marketing you do for your business requires words. And you’re likely not only using one avenue to market your business. You probably have a website, business cards, social media, and possibly an email list and blog going for you. But it’s not enough just to do them without any strategy. What do I mean by this?

One time, a friend showed me her colleagues’ emails, and it was just too. many. words. For an EMAIL. I told her that content should be in his website’s blog post. (He probably didn’t have one.) But all to say, it's not enough to just DO all the marketing I listed above and check them off a to-do list. It’s important to do them properly. To know what type of content should go where. Writing an email is very different than writing a blog post. And web copy is a whole other animal. You need a copywriter who knows the difference.
